The film explores key milestones in the history of engineering and technology in Iceland, from the arrival of the first trained engineers at the beginning of the 20th century to the present day.

The subjects covered are as diverse as road construction, power plants, harbor and lighthouse building, construction projects, district heating, Icelandic industry, geothermal drilling, software development, electronics, and much more. This is a film about the modernization of Iceland, with an emphasis on the technology itself and the engineering expertise Icelanders have developed. Great ambition went into the production of the film, which features footage from numerous sources, some of which has never before been seen by the public.
