HÁSKAR was a one day independent “doomsday” festival with 3 stages, taking place from 3pm to 3am on 03/03/18. The program was packed with poetry, performance, classical music, electronic noises, installations, hardcore bands and other acts fitting for the onset of mankind’s doom. It brought together several disparate streams of experimental and counter-cultural art and music, weaved into a tangible whole.
With a high production value in regards to lighting, sound and set decor, I put up announcement screens flickering with digital distortion and ran live visuals throughout the whole day, along with handling promotion, website, signage and more. The key visual for the festival identity is the world-on-fire buzzsaw logo of Svikamylla ehf., who organized the event.
Nominated as the event of the year at the Icelandic Music Awards and awarded Shout Out of the Year at The Reykjavík Grapevine.
